TDLR's guide separates on-time renewal under Current and Active from expired-license routes for less than 90 days, less than 180 days, less than three years, and more than three years after expiration.
4 hours
One hour in sanitation; One hour in human trafficking awareness; Two hours chosen from Board-listed subjects
TDLR routes payment through the online license-renewal application; the reviewed public practitioner guide does not display the cosmetology-operator renewal amount.
Once expired, the renewal route changes according to elapsed time: less than 90 days, less than 180 days, less than three years, or more than three years. Use the matching TDLR status path instead of the Current and Active path.
Open TDLR's online renewal application, choose Cosmetology Operator, select the current license-status bracket, confirm required continuing education, and address any name, contact, Social Security number, or criminal-conviction changes prompted by the guide.
Complete your renewal with the licensing authority.
