TEA applies a standard renewal fee. Renewal after the expiration date also carries a late renewal fee; the reviewed public renewal guide does not state either dollar amount.
The certificate becomes inactive. It can still be renewed by completing the required CPE and paying the standard and late fees; TEA says the educator does not have to retake certification exams.
Complete the required CPE for the certificate type, retain completion documentation for five years, and submit the standard-certificate renewal through the Educator Certification Online System (ECOS).
Complete your renewal with the licensing authority.
