For licensure by endorsement, graduate from an approved practical/vocational or registered-nursing program and have practiced nursing in another state within the previous four years.
Licensure by endorsement requires the appropriate U.S. national nursing-licensure examination.
Texas Board fee: $75 for examination or $150 for endorsement, including the nursing jurisprudence examination fee. Confirm any separate testing-provider charges before registering.
Every initial Texas nursing-licensure candidate must be fingerprinted.
Final licensure by endorsement is completed within 15 business days after the Board receives the last item that completes the application.
Endorsement applicants create a Texas Nurse Portal account, submit the online endorsement application, and must meet the Board's program, examination, and recent-practice requirements.
